Premier Park at Gyms: Your Appeal Guide
Premier Park manages car parks at various gym and leisure centre locations across the UK using ANPR cameras. The typical time limit is 2 to 3 hours. For gym members who do more than a quick weights session, this limit is often inadequate.
Why Gym Visits Exceed 2 Hours
A comprehensive gym visit involves more than just the workout itself. Here is a realistic breakdown: park and enter the gym (5 to 10 minutes), change into gym gear (10 minutes), warm up and stretch (10 minutes), main workout or class (45 to 60 minutes), cool down (10 minutes), swimming or sauna (30 to 45 minutes), shower and change (15 to 20 minutes), leave (5 minutes). That is 130 to 170 minutes for a session that includes swimming or sauna, exceeding a 2-hour limit.
Group Classes
Many gyms host group fitness classes that run for 45 to 60 minutes. If you attend a class and then use the shower facilities, a class-based visit takes 90 to 120 minutes on its own. If you also do any cardio or weights before or after the class, you will exceed 2 hours.

Getting Gym Management to Help
Your gym's management team may have a relationship with Premier Park that allows them to request charge cancellation for genuine members. Visit the gym reception with your charge letter and membership details. Ask whether they can intervene. Even if they cannot cancel the charge directly, a letter from the gym confirming your membership and typical visit patterns is valuable evidence for your appeal.
Membership and Check-In Evidence
Most gyms track member check-in times through entry barriers or app logs. Request your attendance data for the date of the charge. This proves your exact arrival time and confirms you were a legitimate car park user. Combine this with your membership contract showing you are a paying member of the facility.
Premier Park Court Risk
Premier Park generally does not pursue unpaid charges through the County Court. They may send reminder letters and involve debt collection, but the risk of court proceedings is low. This means you can appeal without significant worry about escalation.
Building Your Gym Appeal
Gather your gym membership details, check-in data, class booking confirmation (if applicable), and the charge letter. Check the NtK date. Photograph the car park signage. Appeal to Premier Park within 28 days. If rejected, [escalate to POPLA](/appeal) within 28 days, arguing the time limit is unreasonable for the type of facility.
